The Most Popular Minecraft Servers Right Now, Ranked by Live Player Count (2026)

Cover for the most popular Minecraft servers ranking: a player with a diamond sword looks at floating sky islands at sunset, next to a top 10 leaderboard led by DonutSMP (29,359 players) and Hypixel (23,522).

Most “top Minecraft servers” lists are someone’s opinion. This one is a measurement.

McRank pings every listed server around the clock and records how many players are online. Below are the biggest Minecraft servers by average player count over the last 30 days, with their peak numbers, game modes and IP addresses.

Data as of September 29, 2026. For the current order, see the live ranking.

Two servers are far ahead of everyone else. Together, DonutSMP and Hypixel have more players online than the next fifty servers on our list combined.

The Servers, One by One

1. DonutSMP — the biggest Minecraft server right now

  • IP: donutsmp.net
  • Average online: 29,359 · Peak: 52,764

DonutSMP is one giant survival world. There are no minigames and no lobbies full of portals — you spawn, head out into the wild and build up from nothing, alongside tens of thousands of other players. That simple formula has made it the most-played Minecraft server we track, and the gap is not small.

Its numbers also swing the most: from about 19,000 players at the quietest hour of the day to more than 35,000 at the busiest.

2. Hypixel — the classic minigame network

  • IP: mc.hypixel.net
  • Average online: 23,522 · Peak: 37,880

Hypixel is the server most players have heard of. It is a network of minigames — BedWars, SkyWars, Murder Mystery and many more — plus Hypixel SkyBlock, which is practically a separate game with its own economy and progression. It supports Java versions from 1.8 up to the latest release.

If you want variety and polished games, this is still the safest first choice.

3. Vortex Network

  • Java IP: sm.vortexnetwork.net
  • Bedrock IP: bedrock.vortexnetwork.net · port 19132
  • Average online: 4,006 · Peak: 7,870

The highest-ranked server here that also accepts Bedrock players. Its main draw is SkyBlock, with new seasons and islands released regularly.

4. OPBlocks

  • Java IP: hub.opblocks.com
  • Bedrock IP: bedrock.opblocks.com · port 19132
  • Average online: 3,988 · Peak: 7,300

OPBlocks runs SkyBlock, Survival and Prison, and it is crossplay too, so friends on phones and consoles can join friends on PC.

5. Mineberry

  • IP: go.mineberry.org
  • Average online: 2,642 · Peak: 5,285

A large network covering Survival, Anarchy, BedWars, SkyWars and KitPvP. It supports a wide version range, from 1.8 to the newest releases, so it works on almost any client.

6. FadeCloud

  • IP: mbs.fadecloud.com
  • Average online: 2,583 · Peak: 3,616

FadeCloud is built around progression modes: Prison, Gens, SkyBlock and Dungeons, plus a Survival realm. A good fit if you like grinding, upgrading and climbing leaderboards.

7. Minemen Club

  • IP: eu.minemen.club
  • Average online: 2,418 · Peak: 5,306

The go-to server for competitive PvP practice: duels, ranked queues and 1.8-style combat. Its player count has a strong daily rhythm — it peaks in the European evening, when the region’s players come online.

8. EnchantedMC

  • IP: jms.enchantedmc.net
  • Average online: 1,788 · Peak: 2,474

A SkyBlock-focused server that has kept a steady player base throughout the month.

9. WildNetwork

  • Java IP: mbs.wildnetwork.net
  • Bedrock IP: play.wildnetwork.net · port 19132
  • Average online: 1,717 · Peak: 3,424

A crossplay network with Survival and Prison modes.

10. FreshSMP

  • IP (Java and Bedrock): play.freshsmp.fun · Bedrock port 19132
  • Average online: 1,486 · Peak: 2,519

An SMP server with a Duels mode, open to both Java and Bedrock. If you want a community survival server that is big enough to feel alive but not as massive as DonutSMP, start here.

How We Measured

  • Every server on McRank is pinged automatically, day and night, and each ping records the number of players online.
  • The average is taken over all successful pings in the last 30 days. Failed pings are not counted as zero, so a server is not penalised for a brief outage.
  • The peak is the highest count we saw in the same 30 days.
  • Some servers report fake player counts — a number that never changes, or one that jumps to impossible values. Real servers have a daily rhythm: busy in the evening, quieter at night. We left out every server whose count doesn’t behave like real players.
  • Player count is not the only thing that matters. The main McRank ranking also weighs votes and uptime.
