The Best Minecraft PvP Servers in 2026, Ranked by Live Player Count

Cover for the best Minecraft PvP servers ranking: two crossed pixel diamond swords at sunset above grass blocks, next to a top 10 PvP leaderboard led by DonutSMP (28,016 players) and Hypixel (22,080).

A PvP server is only as good as the people on it. An empty duel queue is no fun, however good the plugins are.

So instead of picking favourites, we counted. McRank pings every listed server around the clock and records how many players are online. Below are the biggest Minecraft servers where PvP is a main mode, ranked by average player count over the last 30 days and grouped by the kind of fighting you want.

Data as of October 8, 2026. For the current numbers, see the live list of PvP servers.

Practice and Duels

Practice servers skip the survival part entirely: you pick a kit, queue for a 1v1 and fight. They are where competitive players train, and where you will improve fastest.

Minemen Club — the biggest practice server

  • IP: eu.minemen.club
  • Average online: 2,484 · Peak: 5,306

Minemen Club is built around duels and ranked queues in the classic practice kits — NoDebuff, BuildUHC, Sumo and more — with 1.8-style combat. If you want a rating that tells you how good you really are, this is the place.

Its player count follows a strong daily rhythm: about 1,100 players at 05:00 UTC and over 4,200 at 18:00 UTC, the European evening. Queue in the evening and you will get a match in seconds.

PlumSMP

  • IP (Java and Bedrock): plumsmp.net · Bedrock port 19132
  • Average online: 756 · Peak: 1,222

A crossplay network with Practice PvP, KitPvP, GenPvP and Lifesteal. It accepts clients from 1.7.2 up to the newest release, so it suits players who stay on old versions for the old combat. And because it is crossplay, Bedrock players can queue for practice too.

BedWars, SkyWars and Other Minigame PvP

Minigames give every round a goal — protect your bed, loot your island, be the last one standing — so fights happen fast and nobody keeps an advantage between rounds.

Hypixel

  • IP: mc.hypixel.net
  • Average online: 22,080 · Peak: 34,975

The most-played PvP minigames in Minecraft live here: BedWars, SkyWars and Duels, plus The Pit, UHC and many more. Combat follows 1.8 rules, and the network accepts clients from 1.8 to the latest release.

Matchmaking is instant at almost any hour. Even Hypixel’s quietest hour, around 07:00 UTC, averages over 15,000 players.

Mineberry

  • IP: go.mineberry.org
  • Average online: 2,414 · Peak: 5,018

BedWars, SkyWars and KitPvP, plus Survival and Anarchy worlds, on versions 1.8 to 26.3. Its player count swings hard between day and night: around 4,100 players at 14:00 UTC and about 700 after midnight UTC. Play in the European afternoon for full lobbies.

CubeCraft

  • Java IP: play.cubecraft.net
  • Bedrock: one of the featured servers in the game’s Servers tab
  • Average online (Java): 807 · Peak (Java): 1,804

CubeCraft is known for SkyWars, EggWars and Lucky Islands. Its Java side is modest, but CubeCraft is much bigger on Bedrock, where it is built into the game as a featured server: on a phone or console, open the Servers tab and pick it from the list. The numbers above are for Java only — we don’t track its Bedrock side.

Lifesteal

In Lifesteal, killing a player takes one of their hearts and adds it to yours. Die too often and you run out of hearts and are out of the game until someone revives you. Every fight is a gamble, which is why it is one of the most popular PvP formats right now. More servers: Lifesteal servers.

FreshSMP

  • IP (Java and Bedrock): play.freshsmp.fun · Bedrock port 19132
  • Average online: 1,371 · Peak: 2,519

A Lifesteal SMP open to Java and Bedrock, with a Duels mode for fights outside the survival world. It is also one of the steadiest servers we track: even its quietest hour averages about 1,100 players.

MinePeak

  • IP: go.minepeak.org
  • Average online: 1,304 · Peak: 2,959

Survival, Lifesteal and OP Survival, plus Duels, KitPvP, BedWars and SkyWars, on versions 1.8 to 26.3. If you want Lifesteal and minigames under one roof, MinePeak covers both. Like Mineberry, it is busiest around 14:00 UTC.

Factions and Kits

In Factions, teams claim land, build bases and raid each other, often with TNT cannons. KitPvP is the opposite: no building, no gathering — you pick a kit and fight in an arena.

Complex Gaming

  • IP: mbs.mc-complex.com
  • Average online: 1,551 · Peak: 2,308

A large network with Factions and Lifesteal, alongside SMP, SkyBlock and Cobblemon. It runs hubs in several regions, and its player count is spread across the day more evenly than most — between about 1,200 and 1,900 players at any hour. The network says it also accepts Bedrock players; we track its Java address.

ChickenCraft

  • IP: mb.chickencraft.nl
  • Average online: 234 · Peak: 443

ChickenCraft’s main mode is RandomKit: you get a random kit every time you spawn, and you upgrade your kits with the resources you collect. The network also runs Lifesteal and practice modes. It is smaller than the others here, but busy enough for constant fights in the afternoon (UTC).

InsanityCraft

  • IP: join.insanitycraft.net
  • Average online: 150 · Peak: 252

Just outside the top 10, InsanityCraft runs Factions, Survival and SkyBlock on versions 1.8 to 26.2. It is also one of the servers that hands out ranks for free — see our guide to servers with free ranks.

Open-World Survival PvP

No arenas and no queues: one big world where anyone you meet might attack you.

DonutSMP

  • IP: donutsmp.net
  • Average online: 28,016 · Peak: 47,727

The biggest Minecraft server we track, PvP or not. DonutSMP is one giant survival world with an economy, where fights over bases and loot are part of everyday play. It has become a genre of its own — many smaller servers now advertise themselves as “DonutSMP-style” crystal PvP and economy servers.

Minewind

  • IP: mbs.minewind.net
  • Average online: 129 · Peak: 296

Minewind is one of the oldest anarchy-style servers. PvP and griefing are allowed nearly everywhere, players fight bosses for custom loot, and the only real rule is no hacking. Not for the faint-hearted.

Best Time to Find a Fight

Queue times depend on how many people are online. These are each server’s busiest and quietest hours, averaged over the last 30 days:

ServerBusiest hour (UTC)Players thenQuietest hour (UTC)Players then

Most PvP servers peak between 14:00 and 20:00 UTC — the afternoon and evening in Europe, morning to afternoon in the Americas. Between midnight and 07:00 UTC, practice and minigame servers can drop to a quarter of their peak, so expect longer queues.

1.8 or 1.9+ Combat?

Before you pick a server, know which combat system it uses. The two play very differently.

  • 1.8 combat has no attack cooldown: click speed, aim and combos decide fights. Most practice and minigame servers — Hypixel, Minemen Club — use it, even when you connect with a newer client.
  • 1.9+ combat (the Combat Update) adds an attack cooldown, shields and the off-hand. Timing matters more than click speed. Modern SMP and Lifesteal servers use it.
  • Crystal PvP uses end crystals and respawn anchors as explosives. It is the signature style of modern survival PvP servers.
  • Mace PvP came with 1.21: the mace hits harder the further you fall, so players combine it with wind charges and elytra.

Practice modes in one line each

  • NoDebuff — diamond gear and splash potions of healing; no harmful potions.
  • BuildUHC — no natural regeneration: heal with golden apples, build with blocks, use lava and water buckets.
  • Sumo — no weapons; knock the other player off a small platform.
  • Duels — any 1v1 with a fixed kit, from swords-only to full gear.

How We Measured

  • Every server on McRank is pinged automatically, day and night, and each ping records the number of players online.
  • The average covers all successful pings in the last 30 days. Failed pings are not counted as zero, so a short outage doesn’t drag a server down.
  • The peak is the highest count we saw in those 30 days. The hourly table averages every ping taken in that hour over the same period.
  • We included servers that advertise PvP modes, or where PvP is the core of the game. Servers whose player counts don’t behave like real players — numbers that never change, or jump to impossible values — were left out.
  • For the full picture beyond PvP, see the most popular Minecraft servers ranking.
