Terms of Service

Welcome to McRank (“McRank”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accessing or using our platform (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Definitions

  • Service — the McRank platform, accessible at https://mcrank.net, and its associated features.
  • User — any individual or entity accessing or using the Service.
  • Account — a registered profile enabling a User to manage servers, votes, and other activities on the platform.
  • Server Owner — a registered User who lists and manages a Minecraft server on the platform.
  • Pro — a recurring paid subscription that unlocks additional features for a Server Owner’s listings.
  • Promo slot — a one-time paid placement that features a listing in a highlighted position for a fixed period.
  • Partner — third-party entities collaborating with McRank, such as payment processors or API providers.

2. Eligibility and acceptance

By using the Service, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 16 years old, or meet the minimum age required by the laws of your country.
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
  • You agree to comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws while using the Service.

3. Description of the Service

McRank provides a ranking platform for Minecraft servers. Users may:

  • Explore server listings, vote for servers, and view rankings.
  • Register and manage their own server entries, including descriptions, screenshots, and status information collected by pinging the server address you provide.
  • Write reviews of servers and report listings or reviews that break these Terms.
  • Receive optional e-mail notifications about their listings, and disable them at any time in account settings.
  • Access free and paid features as described on our website.

4. Account registration and security

  • You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when registering.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Voting and ranking rules

  • Servers are ranked based on the number of unique votes they receive each month.
  • Votes reset on the first day of each month.
  • You may not use bots, VPNs, proxies, scripts, or any automated systems to manipulate votes.
  • If we detect fraudulent activity, we reserve the right to reset votes, suspend or freeze the server listing, or permanently ban the server from McRank.
  • Payments associated with accounts caught cheating will not be refunded.

6. Integrations

Server Owners may connect their listing to third-party systems, such as a Votifier endpoint for in-game vote rewards or a Discord webhook for notifications. Where you enable such an integration:

  • You confirm that you control the destination system and are entitled to send data to it.
  • We forward vote and listing events to the endpoint you configured, on a best-effort basis. Delivery is not guaranteed, and we are not responsible for rewards that your own server fails to grant.
  • You may remove an integration at any time from your server settings.

7. Payments and refunds

  • Some features of the Service require a recurring subscription (Pro) or a one-time payment (promo slots).
  • Payments are processed by Paddle or other authorized payment providers. By making a payment, you also agree to the terms of our payment processor.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

8. User conduct

When using McRank, you agree not to:

  • Post illegal, harmful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise offensive content, including in reviews.
  • Impersonate other users or entities, or submit a listing for a server you do not operate.
  • Submit reviews or reports in bad faith, or in exchange for compensation.
  • Collect or harvest data from other users without consent.
  • Attempt to disrupt or harm the platform’s functionality.

9. Content submission and license

By submitting content — server descriptions, images, screenshots, reviews — you grant McRank a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute this content for the purpose of operating the Service.

You represent and warrant that you own the rights to any content you submit. We reserve the right to remove or refuse any content at our discretion.

10. Privacy and data protection

We process your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the right under the GDPR to access your personal data, request rectification or deletion, and restrict or object to processing.

Force majeure: we are not responsible for interruptions caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

11. Intellectual property

All rights to the Service, including its design, source code, and branding, remain the property of McRank. You are granted a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal and non-commercial purposes.

McRank is not affiliated with Mojang AB or Microsoft in any capacity.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or virus-free operation, nor the accuracy of status information reported by third-party servers. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

13. Limitation of liability

McRank shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid, if any, for paid features in the preceding three months.

14. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from your account settings, or by contacting support.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, unlawful use, or fraudulent activity.

15. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. You will be notified of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes means acceptance of the new Terms.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

For EU residents, these Terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence. For all other users, these Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia.
