How we measure honest pings
Honest pings
Every server in the atlas is pinged directly, on a schedule, from our own workers. We record what the server actually reports — no estimates, no padding, no “up to” numbers.
What we collect
- The real-time online and max player counts
- Round-trip latency from our edge
- The MOTD and protocol version
Why it matters
A ranking is only as trustworthy as the data behind it. By showing the same numbers the server hands us, the leaderboard stays honest — and that is the whole point of McRank.
